Watawala Tea Joins the Fight Against COVID-19

Despite the significant disruption faced across many aspects of life and society due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Watawala Tea remained tenacious, supporting both healthcare and frontline workers in their heroic work to help contain the virus, treat those infected and maintain essential functions of society. As such, Watawala Tea provided support to temples, churches, mosques and even individual households that were affected.
Some of the key initiatives carried out by Watawala Tea in this regard included:
⚫ Donation of Watawala tea and Watawala Ayur tea to COVID-19 quarantine centres
⚫ Donation of Watawala teas to hospitals, the Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Police
⚫ Providing dry ration packs to 3,300 families in the Kilinochchi and Padavi areas in April 2020 during the first lockdown
⚫ Supporting 150 religious’ spaces in the Anuradhapura district during Poson Poya 2021
⚫ Providing over 260,000 cups of Watawala Ayur immune-boosting tea to 246 vaccination centres
